Symptoms Your Child May Have Gluten Intolerance

If you think your child may have a gluten intolerance here are some symptoms to look for in your child.
They are all common in children, however if your child has more than two you may want to go see a doctor.

1. Skin Rash- One of the most common symptom of gluten intolerance is a skin rash.  The rash is usually
seen aftereating gluten and is red, peeling and itchy.

2.  Stomach issues-  If your child has gas, bloating and or constipation, your child can be having a hard time
breaking down gluten.  If this is the case, it is usually seen after ingesting gluten.

3.  Fatigue-  If your child seems not him or herself, tired, in a fog, this may be gluten intolerance. This happens
as a result of sticky residue in the digestive track.  Your child's body uses energy to attack this substance that
it sees as foreign.  This leads to less energy.

4.  Dark circles under eyes-  If the body is fighting food that it is unable to handle, it begins to become tired.
This leads to nutrients not being absorbed and  turns to dark circles under the eyes.

5.  Dizziness-  One of the symptoms of gluten intolerance is an inflammation of the nervous system.  If this
happens, it can cause dizziness, and loss of balance.

6.  Frequent colds-  Gluten intolerance and lead to a weakening immune system.  This can lead to more colds
and flu.

7.  Runny nose-  A constant runny nose even without a cold can be gluten intolerance.  It can lead to an excess
of mucus which leads to a constant runny nose.

8.  Headaches-  Many children with a gluten intolerance have more headaches and joint pain.  As the body fights the
gluten it can lead to increase in headaches and pain.

These are just some of the most common signs of gluten intolerance.  If you feel your child has a few of these it
is advised to see a doctor to find out if they are intolerant or possibly have Celiac disease.
