These past few weeks, my kids having been eating mangoes like crazy. We You Tubed how to pick a good one and how to cut it. When riped they are so delicious and yes gluten free. With spring coming I thought I would talk about some super fruits, including the Mango.
The Mango is a juicy stone fruit belonging to the genus Mangifera, consisting of a number of tropical fruiting trees. The mango is native to South Asia. There are over 400 varieties of mangoes. The fruit takes three to six months to ripen.
They are low in calories and high in fiber, vitamins, and nutrients. One cup of mangoes is about 100 calories. It contains about 3 grams of fiber, 100% of vitamin C, 35% of vitamin A, 20% of folate, 10% of vitamin B-6, and 8% of vitamin K. It also contains antioxidants that protect the body.
It has been said to help clear your skin, aide in weight loss, strengthen the immune system, help in digestion and many more benefits. It is basically the perfect snack, good for all to eat. It can be called in my eyes a super fruit that all should try.
