The nut  of the day is the Macadamia nut, its tasty, popular and healthy for you. Despite the fact they are the highest in fat, lowest in protein, they are most peoples favorite nut.  Grown in trees in tropical and subtropical regions they are sweet and crunchy.  There are about seven species of macadamia nuts.  Here is a list of some health benefits these nuts provide.

1. These nuts are packed with nutrients, minerals, antioxidants and vitamins that are essential for health and wellness.

2. They are high in fiber with 8.6 grams per 100g., with 718  calories.

3.  They are also gluten free, used in many gluten free food preparations.

4.  They are an excellent source of minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese and zinc.

5.   They are also rich in many B vitamins such as thiamine, riboflavin and niacin.

6.  They are high in monounsaturated fats.  These fats have been proven to help lower the LDL and raise the HDL.
