I saved the best nut for last, the popular yummy peanut.  I will talk about this popular, however highly allergenic nut.  The peanut is also known as a ground nut, widely grown in the tropics and subtropics.  It is classified as both a grain legume, and because of its oil content, an oil crop.

In addition to being every kids and many grown ups favorite sandwich, peanuts pack a serious nutritional punch and offer many health benefits.

1.  Heart Benefits-  Peanuts are rich in mono unsaturated fats, this is the type of fat that is good for a healthy heart.  Also high in vitamin E, niacin, folate, protein and manganese, shown important in heart health.  Peanuts provide resveratrol, the phenolic antioxidant that has been linked to heart health.

2.  Antioxidants-  The peanuts high antioxidant content helps explain seen in women's studies  in which risk of death was lower with peanut intake.  The tip is to lower your risk of cardiovascular disease, enjoy a handful of peanuts or nut butter at least 4 times a week.

3  Yes gluten free with about 825 calories per cup, 38grams of protein, 72 grams of fat, 24 grams of carbohydrates, and 12 grams of fiber.  With vitamin A, calcium, vitamin D and vitamin B12.

4.  Over a twenty year period, a study was done where women who ate at least 1 ounce of nuts, peanuts, or peanut butter each week have a 25% lower risk of developing gallstones.
