Gluten Free Diet And Dermatitis Herpetiformis

Dermatitis herpetiformis is an itchy, blistering skin
rash.  These symptoms improve with a gluten free
diet.  If gluten is ingested, the rash usually comes
back.

There are medicines to help with the rash, these
usually improve the rash.  The intestinal damage
is still there, a gluten free diet  should be followed.

Even when you follow a strict gluten free diet, the
rash may take months or a year to fully heal.
The key is getting a diagnosis as early as possible,
to avoid too much damage.
