Whey Protein
Whey protein is one of the two proteins found in milk,
with the other being casein. Whey is used as a protein
supplement. It is very useful in helping people reach
their protein goals. Whey is absorbed faster, which
means it also increased muscle protein synthesis used
to break a fasted state.
Some facts about whey protein.
1. It is animal based, made from the isolated liquid
created as a by product of cheese.
2. It can be hard to digest, leading to bloating and
cramps.
3. Whey products contain saturated fat, cholesterol
and no essential fatty acids.
4. It contains lactose, unsuitable for those with lactose
intolerance.
5. Many products that use whey, use added sugar,
and artificial colors and flavors.
